Welcome to my journey

Who Am I, Anyway?
Hi there! I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. If we haven’t met yet, I’m Lucy, a web design expert with a love for all things AI, eCommerce, and digital strategy. I’ve spent almost a decade diving deep into design, user experience, and the tech tools that make businesses tick. From managing digital design for major brands in London to taking the leap into freelance to build my own agency, it’s been a ride filled with learning, challenges, and more caffeine than I’d like to admit.

So, what’s this blog about? Here, you’ll find insights into AI and tech, a behind-the-scenes look at my own business journey, and (hopefully) plenty of useful tidbits you can use in your own ventures. But let me be honest—this isn’t going to be a ‘post every week like clockwork’ type of blog. Instead, think of it as a space where I pop in whenever inspiration strikes, sharing those aha moments and the discoveries that really get me fired up.

What You Can Expect
If you’re here looking for AI tips and tricks, a peek into what it’s really like running a design agency, or just need a dose of inspiration for growing your own business, you’re in the right place. This blog will be my unfiltered take on what’s happening in the world of tech, the latest AI tools worth trying (or not!), and insights from my own journey as a business owner.

The posts will cover a mix of topics, including:

  • AI & Tech: From breaking down the latest in AI advancements to honest reviews of new tools, I’m here to help you separate hype from the genuinely helpful.

  • Business Tips: Whether you’re just starting out or looking to scale, I’ll share real-life lessons from my experience with digital design, branding, and strategy.

  • My Own Business Journey: Sometimes, I’ll take you behind the scenes, sharing the wins, the struggles, and the constant evolution of running a design agency in a tech-driven world.

I might not stick to a rigid structure or schedule—this blog will evolve as I do. So, come along for the ride, and let’s see where we end up!

A Few Fun Facts About Me

  • I’m a sports enthusiast: Netball and running keep me active, focused, and sane.

  • I have a retail background: I didn’t just stumble into eCommerce. My journey started with a sponsored degree in retail management alongside my first eCommerce job in 2015, giving me an early perspective on customer experience.

  • I’m obsessed with solving problems: There’s nothing quite like digging into a new tech tool or concept and seeing what makes it tick—and how it can solve real problems for real people.

So, if you’re interested in tech, launching or scaling your business, or just hearing about the latest developments in AI, grab a coffee and get comfy. And if you’ve got something specific you want to see here, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Bonus Prompt to Try
I’d like each post to end with a prompt that you can go away and test, giving you something tangible to take from each read. I will see how I stick to this across the blogs. But here’s the first prompt to get you started!

Prompt Example: Finding Your Bold Business Voice
This prompt is all about helping you identify and shape the unique voice for your business or personal brand. Whether you’re launching a new project or looking to refresh your brand personality, this prompt will guide you through defining what sets you apart.

Prompt:
"Help me define a distinct brand voice for [business name]. Describe the core personality traits of the brand as if it were a person, using adjectives that reflect my values and target audience. Craft a mission statement in 2-3 sentences that captures our main purpose and what we want customers to feel.

Then, provide an outline of the key tone elements (like humor, warmth, professionalism) and give three example sentences that show how this voice would come across in marketing messages. Finally, identify three brands that have a similar vibe for inspiration."

Why I Like This Prompt:

  • It brings clarity: This prompt helps you pinpoint exactly how you want your brand to come across. Knowing the personality and tone that best reflect you can make all the difference in building customer loyalty.

  • It’s actionable: Beyond just ideas, this prompt gives you example sentences and brand inspirations, helping you visualize your voice in the real world.

  • It’s strategic: Aligning your brand voice with your values and target audience is key to standing out in a crowded market, and this prompt ensures your voice is uniquely you.

I’m excited to start this journey with you and can’t wait to share more in the posts to come. Let’s explore the future of tech, the heart of business, and every lesson in between!
